You mentioned sports. Some sports justifiably segregate by sex because of the average difference in strength, etc. Proof of that justification comes from what happens when mediocre male athletes identify as women and the recent victory of 15 year old boys over the women’s world champion soccer team.
I recently retired from the male dominant engineering environment. Over the years I witnessed a sizable increase in the number of female engineers, mostly software. They have mostly been Asian. It doesn’t seem to be a matter of ability since there are non-Asian female engineers doing quite well. I think it might be a matter of interest. Is that because of separate upbringing? I have no clue.
In full disclosure, I’m a believer that male/female differences are not just about plumbing. That’s not a value judgement.
Would it be better to have children become familiar with the bodies of the opposite sex at an earlier age? They are. What has been the result so far?
