That’s my white privilege. Since I have fewer occasions to wonder about such things it’s all too easy for me to dismiss others as a man with a hammer when I have that feel far less often.

Years ago a black friend in the deep south told me he was more comfortable in the south because the racists didn’t hide it like they were more likely to do in the north. Now that hiding it is near universal, his discomfort is more universally there.
