If government force requires you to pay more for something than it is worth to you, do you buy it? What is different about a product or service and what an employer pays an employee?
When a man rings my bell and asks if I want him to trim my palm trees I ask how much? He looks at them and squints as if he is thinking about it (he knew the minimum he’d take before he rang my bell). We decide a price agreeable to us both or he goes his way.
That price we decide upon will be much higher than a minimum wage. Why? Because his service is worth it to me, a large old man who has no business climbing palm trees. I don’t pay anyone to mow my lawn.
What something is worth to the person paying always trumps all other considerations.
