I conflated hierarchies knowing that they are not often purely about what they are supposed to be about. They are just a part of a ubiquitous environment.
I don’t think my former employer was atypical for an international corporation. Especially over the last ten years I have had female peers, manager, director and VP. There may have evenq been a female division president. The thing is, I could never have told you the name of anyone above my manager’s boss as the Marine Corps chain of command structure never left me when I left it.
Do you have any thoughts or data on why American women are so much less inclined to STEM than foreign women? The exception among American women seemed to be Asian, at least in my environment.
