Given the critical nature of pitch data beyond the norm on this aircraft (it’s always critical), I wonder about how they vote out one of two AOAs when there is a mismatch. If our watches disagree, how do we know which watch is wrong without a third vote from somewhere? The IRS ring laser gyros are primarily for navigation but they are three axis sensors and I would think that they could provide a sanity vote for pitch angle. I wonder if it’s in the mix, and if not, why not?
