Fifty years ago the words, “she’s good looking for a []” were something I’d hear other white guys say. I suspect they may have been thinking, “she’s a fox, if like to [] her”. I’m not a mind reader, but that’s what I was thinking. I didn’t feel a need to add the disclaimer. Time rolled on and the “for a” words are not only less heard, I suspect less thought, but I can’t read minds.
I’m not in a position to know if women say, “he’s good looking for a []” in 21st century America. Do they think it? As a man it’s not something I often think about but I think that “Desi men” are often quite handsome so are we at that point in walking past racial bias for sexual attraction? Are women seeing the handsome man thru their racial bias filters? A question only a woman could answer and I hope some will.
