A while back I started going to weekly ukulele jam sessions. They are chord and lyrics oriented with singout format sheets showing the lyrics and chords. We play a lot of old songs.

Talk about misheard and/or unthought about words. After all these years I discovered that they were not what the music let us all accept. But then they just may have not gone into our ears sideways back then because the Zeitgeist set a different standard.

I read a similar article on Medium this morning about John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Amazing what we digest without much thought.
